We announce the IX Summer Course of the UOM International Summer Senior University: “Healthy lifestyles: a Mediterranean experience in Mallorca” is a one-week permanent learning programme in a fun and Mediterranean context, which is addressed to students over 55.

This programme is completely taught in English and focuses on intercultural understanding between people of different European countries.

It will be carried out from the 4^th to the 10^th of September 2016.

The edition of this year will cover interdisciplinary topics related to healthy lifestyles, such as nutrition, workout and positive thinking.

TERMS OF THE CALL

In accordance with its Statutes, AEPUM has as its essential goal to promote educational programmes for older adults at a university level, contributing to the formative and cultural development of senior citizens. In this context, the AEPUM RESEARCH AWARD was created in the year 2013-14 with an annual regularity for the distinction of the best research works carried out concerning some of the topics related to the objectives and interests developed in the association.  The Prize constitutes the recognition that the National Association of University Programmes for Older Adults grants to those researchers who devote their efforts to the search for innovative solutions which can favour lifelong learning as a way to enhance seniors’ quality of life.

The Universitat de les Illes Balears (University of the Balearic Islands) develops the next 29^th of April the conference “USE OF ICTs IN UNIVERSITY PROGRAMMES FOR OLDER ADULTS”. In the framework of the National Study about the Use of ICTs in the University Programmes for Older Adults carried out in the framework of the State Association of University Programmes for Older Adults (AEPUM). The Universitat de les Illes Balears, as a member university that has participated in this mentioned study organizes this Conference in which in addition to present the study and the more conclusive data in the national scope, it will be influenced in the existent reality in the ambit of ICTs in the Universitat Oberta per a Majors (Open University to Older Adults), programme of specific learning to older adults that the UIB carries out.

On the 1st October the “International Day of Older Adults” is commemorated. On this occasion, the IMSERSO has invited the State Association of University Programmes for Older Adults (AEPUM) to take part in this celebration with the aim of presenting the study “USE OF ICT AT THE UNIVERSITY PROGRAMMES FOR OLDER PEOPLE”. The study has been carried out under the DORO’s sponsorship, leader company on the field of communication technologies adapted to older persons, and the mentioned investigation has been developed within the AEPUM’s workframe with the participation of 40 universities and 5390 students belonging to the same ones that have been involved in the baseline survey of this study.

The University of Vigo organizes the XIII International Conferences about Associationism at the PUMs from the 17th to the 20th September 2014.

Arranged by the Open Training Classrooms –AFA–, the University of Vigo becomes the host of this edition of the XIII International Conferences about Associationism among the alumni that study their academic courses at the University Programmes for Older Adults.

These Conferences from the 17th to the 20th September 2014 are held under the title “CONTINUOUS TRAINING THROUGHOUT LIFE”.
