IV CONGRESO IBEROAMERICANO DE UNIVERSIDADES PARA MAYORES - CIUUMM 2011

Distinguidos amigos,  

En nombre de la Asociación Estatal de Programas Universitarios para Mayores (AEPUM) y de la Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo como entidades organizadoras del Congreso les invitamos a participar los días 27 al 30 de junio de 2011, en el IV Congreso Iberoamericano de Universidades para Mayores que se celebrará en Alicante-España. Este congreso se inscribe en el marco de la cooperación nacional e internacional entre grupos de  investigadores y universidades con programas universitarios para personas mayores y experiencias educativas de adultos mayores.

CIUUMM 2011 se  suma a anteriores iniciativas para incidir, en los inicios del sXXI, en la necesidad de profundizar en los análisis de las enseñanzas específicas para mayores en las universidades, entendidas como la formación permanente y a lo largo de la vida, necesarias para responder al reto del envejecimiento de la población, para consolidar una sociedad abierta a todas las edades, capaz de reducir la pobreza y de fomentar la inclusión de grupos marginados, la participación social y promover la ciudadanía activa. 

El Congreso incorporará las diversas perspectivas de las universidades e instituciones responsables de las políticas educativas y sociales que afectan a la formación para mayores, así como los trabajos y análisis de investigadores de los campos y áreas de conocimiento de las Ciencias de la Educación, Gerontología, Sociología del Envejecimiento y de otras materias del ámbito de las Ciencias Sociales,  Humanidades, Salud, y Nuevas Tecnologías,  que puedan aportar investigaciones, resultados, y propuestas pertinentes a las temáticas del Congreso. La interdisciplinariedad y la transnacionalidad, con la componente multicultural que ello supone, son además otros aspectos destacables del mismo.

El Congreso se estructura  en cinco Conferencias y tres  Paneles con carácter plenario para la participación conjunta de todos los asistentes.  A partir de las Conferencias Plenarias y de un Panel de Expertos, se enmarcan además las Ponencias invitadas, presentadas simultáneamente por investigadores en distintas salas, dando paso tras cada ponencia específica de un tema, a sesiones también simultáneas de presentación de los trabajos y comunicaciones que se seleccionen para su exposición en el Congreso.

En ella encontrará  el Programa Preliminar, las normas de presentación de trabajos (comunicaciones y posters)  así como las normas de envío de dichos trabajos y los plazos establecidos por la Secretaría Académica del  CIUUMM 2011, para la presentación de los mismos  cuya fecha límite es el 14 de marzo para comunicaciones y posters.

El plazo de matrícula para asistencia y participación en el Congreso, así como las opciones a diversas becas y ayudas para asistir al mismo, estará en breve a disposición de los interesados en la Secretaría Técnica del CIUUMM 2011, que corresponde a la Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo .

4TH LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS OF UNIVERSITIES FOR OLDER ADULTS - CIUUMM 2011

“Lifelong learning, active ageing and international cooperation in University Programmes for Older Adults”.

Dear friends,  

In the name of Spain’s National Association of University Programmes for Older Adults (AEPUM) and the International University Menéndez Pelayo as the organizing entities of the Congress, we invite you to participate in the 4th Latin American Congress of Universities for Older Adults , which will be held in Alicante, Spain, on June 27th to 30th 2011. This congress is to be seen in the frame of national and international cooperation among research groups and universities with university programmes for older adults and  educational experiences of seniors.

CIUUMM 2011 joins in previous activities in order to stress at the beginning of the 21st century the need to go into depth within the analysis of specific teaching for older adults at universities, understanding this as a continuous and lifelong training, which is necessary for responding to the challenge of an ageing population, and for strengthening a society open for all ages, able to reduce poverty and to promote the inclusion of marginalized groups, social participation and an active citizenship.  

The Congress will incorporate diverse perspectives of universities and institutions responsible for educational and social policies which affect older adults’ training, as well as works and analysis of researchers within the fields and knowledge areas of Education, Gerontology, Sociology of Ageing and other subjects within Social Science, Humanities, Health, and New Technologies, who can contribute research, results and relevant proposals for the subject matter of the Congress. Other aspects to highlight about the event are its interdisciplinarity and transnationality with the multilateral component, which goes along with it.  

The Congress is structured in five conferences and three panels with plenary character for the joint participation of the audience. Within the frame of three of the plenary conferences and one of the panels of experts, there will be invited conference papers, which will be presented simultaneously by the researchers in different rooms. After each paper and presentation of a specific topic, there will be simultaneous other presentations and papers selected for their exhibition in the Congress.
