In 2003, an association for learning started a project named European Senior Citizens’ Storyboard.

The main goal of the Association for Learning was to promote interaction between the senior European citizens, encouraging learning and the exchange of knowledge about cultural patrimony, making use of the new technology and learning English as the language used in the project, promoting this way among the participants the feeling of belonging to a common Europe.

 

This project was an opportunity for the senior European citizens to compile and exchange personal stories, such as childhood or family experiences, or even talk about national and international events, traditional games, gastronomy... That way the students deepened in the knowledge of the cultural patrimony of each one of the participating countries.

 

The information and communication technology was used for the students to expose their stories at the Project's website, making it possible to comment about them and interact with the authors by email.
