THE UNIVERSITY OF MURCIA’S UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME FOR OLDER ADULTS - 20TH ANNIVERSARY

November 30th, 2017

The University of Murcia’s university programme for older adults is celebrating its 20th Anniversary holding a day that will pay homage to those who have preceded us and who, innovatively in Europe, set the bases of what we know today as a solid and modernized curriculum that offers adults over the age of 50 the possibility to access university education. Along with this, we will reflect on the reality of university studies for older adults in Spain, as well as analyse our curriculums' current situation.

Likewise, this celebration acts as an open day to welcome anybody who will want to meet us and is interested in joining the coming academic years.

The university programme for seniors at the University of Murcia offers multidisciplinary university studies catered towards senior students who want to access its lectures for the first time, or to reunite with university activities once again, thus contributing to their educational and cultural development from the perspective of lifelong learning.

An education open to everyone, and structured by a 4-year curriculum, as well as an advanced syllabus where the only prerequisite is having reached the age of 50 with a standing illusion to keep learning and discovering.
