SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE UNIVERSITY AND SENIORS’ EMPOWERMENT FROM THE UNIVERSITY PROGRAMMES FOR SENIORS

The social responsibility of the University is an institutional tendency that wants to respond to the demands of nowadays society. Different national and international organizations believe that the University should take a leading role in the processes of human development, exploring and putting into practice new strategies to build a more responsible and participatory society. In this sense, the UPOAs should not be left out and should also participate in promoting this new social model through teaching practices, management of its programmes and even research in the last chance of achieving a greater empowerment of their students. This seminar will discuss the benefits of this new approach and what has been done until nowadays in this area, as well as the guidelines to make “more responsible programmes”.

This VIII AEPUM Working Seminar is addressed to Directors, Academic Coordinators, Researchers, Teachers, Technical and Administrative Staff working in OAUPs that are AEPUM members.
