The SENDA Group presents the Guide of University Programmes for Older Adults
The SENDA Group has presented the Guide of University Programmes for Older Adults, the first directory that gathers all information concerning those 40+ Spanish universities, both public and private, that offer courses for people over 50 years. The general manager of the group, Matilde Pelegrí, has assured that "in this 11 years, we have seen how these programs have been growing, while the number of students enrolled increased. And our Group, as well as them, continues to bet on lifelong learning". Nowadays, there are more than 40,000 older adults studying at the University.
One more year, the SENDA magazine for active people has published in its July-August number, the Guide of University Programmes for Older Adults. It is a directory containing all information the 40+ Spanish universities, both public and private, that provide courses for people over 50 years, as well as lifelong learning activities conducted by other entities.
The Guide, clearly organized by autonomous communities, offers all relevant data that seniors need to know before enrolling at the University. For example, the venues where these courses take place, pre-enrollment and enrollment dates, start date and duration of the academic year, compulsory and optional subjects, changes and contact numbers.
“Age is not a problem for almost nothing anymore. Today's seniors have more time and their concern to keep learning is escalating. In these 11 years, from the SENDA pages for active people, we have seen how these programs have been increasing, as well as the number of students enrolled. And our group, as well as them, continues to bet on lifelong learning", assured the general manager of the SENDA Group, Matilde Pelegrí.
The offer of University Programmes for Older Adults started shyly in our country in the nineties. However, nowadays, there are more than 40,000 older adults studying at the Spanish universities, a figure that will grow even more in the future.
