Contents
1. Convey the educational, training and enriching character of the existence of these studies for the students and their social necessity. The University, deeply concerned about the society to which it belongs, has the right and the duty of committing itself to this need, through the development of studies for older adults.
2. Consider as studies for older adults those embedded in a wide framework characterised by its legal binding with the University, for its duration, regularity, content, academical level and methodology, which is obvious in every studies developed under the university follow-up and commitment.
3. Show concern about the designations (sometimes abusive) used when naming teachings aimed at older adults. The use of denominations such as "(University) Programmes for Older Adults or similar ones, avoiding the name "University of the 3rd Age".
4. Request from IMSERSO the publication of a resource guide of the Programmes, in the shortest term possible and with all details deemed necessary.
5. Propose to CRUE the establishment of a commission that would deal with academical problems arising from the implementation of the Programmes for Older Adults.
6. Approve that the Third Meeting would take place under the wing of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, with the following topics:
- And then what? From passivity to activity: proposals.
- Programmes in rural and urban areas.
- Analysis and discussion about the Guide. (Funding, organization, contents, duration, etc.)
