The Minister of Education, Ángel Gabilondo, chairs the Fourth Iberoamerican Congress of Universities for Older Adults

The Minister of Education, Ángel Gabilondo chairs the Fourth Iberoamerican Congress of Universities for Older Adults - CIUUMM 2011 that  will be held in Alicante from June 27 to 30 2011 under the title "Lifelong learning, active ageing and international cooperation in university programmes for older adults". This news was spread yesterday at the official opening of  before the CIUUMM 2011 media, which was carried out in Alicante by Salvador Ordóñez, Vice-chancellor of the UIMP and Concepción Bru, President of AEPUM.
 
Among other data, the high number of presenting works was highlighted: 120 communications and posters. These works will be exhibited and presented by their authors in the framework of Invited Lectures, Plenary Lectures and Panels of Experts. They will have a chance to speak in the three panels designed for that purpose. The Lectures will be also attended by institutional heads of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality. Furthermore, we may not forget the attendance of high representatives of the Latin American universities.
We remind all people interested in attending to the Fourth Iberoamerican Congress of Universities for Older Adults that the enrollment deadline will remain open while there are vacancies. On the other hand, the deadline to apply for grants ends on May 6th 2011.
The Cultural Programme to perform complementary activities in the framework of the Congress has been publish. Those concerned should register for them.
