The increase of the amount of university programs for people older than 55 years is a great step forward in this field but it brings multiple challenges. The diffusion, variety, approach, structure, financing, organization and evolution experienced by all the programs back this Preparatory Activity that focuses its efforts in favoring the activities for an institutional strengthening with an Academic Net of International Cooperation, Development, Research and Training for Older Adults.

The net of universities and researchers on permanent training and cooperation would generate an alliance among research groups in Spain and Latin America with a multidisciplinar and transdisciplinar character. This alliance is presented as an academic-scientific referent that can coordinate not only the University Community but also social and institutional agents interested in this field. It would establish a platform of diffusion and information that would make known the cooperation on research and training for older adults with the purpose of sharing and spreading the results among the national and international cooperation agencies and the entities in charge of the policies and programs of permanent training in each country.

Therefore the Preparatory Activity has a long-term task that is now realized in these Latin American Workshops on University Management and activities for the exchange of good practice and cooperation for the development of permanent education of older adults as a mechanism of social inclusion and to fight poverty.

It is basicaly structured in:
